The only Laborers Academy in the country!

NELS is a public charter high school which caters to students who are interested in the fields of Construction Craft Technology; our World of Work program; credit recovery; and/or post-secondary college options.

We are part of the Cranston Public School system and are accountable to the same federal and state regulations and standards as other public high schools. The Academy is open to all Rhode Island students and we serve approximately 170 students in grades 9-12. Students apply and are chosen through a blind lottery each year in March.

We bus from Providence, Cranston, Central Falls, Johnston, Lincoln, N. Providence, Pawtucket, Smithfield, Warren, Warwick/West Warwick, Barrington, and Bristol.
